Bedford and Forsyth Education Centres

BFEC is a public high school within the Halifax Regional School Board (HRSB) that supports Adult learners as well as high school aged learners. Adult learners (aged 21 and over or aged 19 and over who have been out of school for one year) who do not have a high school diploma can attend free of charge!
If you are an adult learner or a high school aged learner who is interested in returning to school, please complete our online Expression of Interest before coming in to register. Please note, BFEC is not a program. We are a high school. 

In order for BFEC staff to be able to register you we require you to bring all of the following information with you:

  1. Transcript from your most recent school (This can take up to 7 days to receive from your former school)
  2. Copy of your birth certificate or passport
  3. Copy of your health card
  4. $20 cash registration fee


BFEC – Q2 Begins November 14th

  • Are you 21 years of age and over and looking to finish your high school diploma?
  • Are you 19-20 and out of school for a year and looking to finish your high school diplma?
  • Are you looking to upgrade English 12 or Math 12?

BFEC may be an excellent option for you! We are currently registering students to begin a new quarter course on November 14, 2016. For more information, please complete the Adult expression of interest found on our website under Expression of Interest.

Our next registration dates are October 20, November 3 and November 10th from 1-3pm. Please follow instructions on our website prior to coming in for registration.
