Bedford and Forsyth Education Centres

BFEC is a public high school within the Halifax Regional School Board (HRSB) that supports Adult learners as well as high school aged learners. Adult learners (aged 21 and over or aged 19 and over who have been out of school for one year) who do not have a high school diploma can attend free of charge!
If you are an adult learner or a high school aged learner who is interested in returning to school, please complete our online Expression of Interest before coming in to register. Please note, BFEC is not a program. We are a high school. 

In order for BFEC staff to be able to register you we require you to bring all of the following information with you:

  1. Transcript from your most recent school (This can take up to 7 days to receive from your former school)
  2. Copy of your birth certificate or passport
  3. Copy of your health card
  4. $20 cash registration fee


Curriculum Night Tuesday, September 20th

Parents & Guardians: You will have an opportunity to meet your student’s teacher(s) and find out about their courses, and hopefully gain an understanding of student life in our classrooms.

The night will run from 6:00 to 6:45pm. Teachers and parents can meet informally in the lobby at 6:00 where parent/guardians can receive their student’s schedule.

Bedford Campus – 426 Rocky Lake Drive, Bedford
Forsyth Campus – 136 Pinecrest Drive, Dartmouth

6:00pm – Meet and greet in Lobby.
6:15pm – Go to first class on schedule.
6:30pm – Go to second class on schedule.
6:45pm – Curriculum night finished.
